IELTS Speaking Part 3 is a two-way discussion with the examiner. You’ll discuss more complex and abstract ideas related to the Part 2 topic.
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

Purpose: Assess your ability to express opinions, justify ideas, compare and evaluate

Give opinions, support them, and sometimes compare different viewpoints

Speak in longer, more complex sentences

Stay relevant to the question and expand when appropriate

Using conditional and hypothetical structures (e.g. “If I were...”)

Comparing and contrasting ideas

Using discourse markers (e.g. “On the other hand”, “In my opinion”, “This depends on…”)
